About Me

Hi, I'm Sahra and my journey into interior design is deeply personal. My family and I came to the UK as refugees, and for much of my childhood, we lived with what I’d call a “refugee mindset.” We never fully settled because there was always this underlying hope, especially for my parents, that once the war was over, we’d return ‘home.’ This shaped the way we lived - suitcases doubled as storage and no real effort was made to decorate our space because it always felt temporary, but we lived like this for nearly two decades.

It wasn’t until I moved out and shared a furnished flat with friends at university that I realized how much we as a family had missed. Simple things like colourful cushions, soft lighting, and wall art began to make a huge difference. Surrounding myself with beautiful, thoughtful design improved my mood and well-being. It was then that I understood the healing power of creating a beautiful space to live in.

A few years later, I took the plunge and invested my savings to renovate my family’s home. My aim was to create something beautiful and elegant, with quality materials, furniture, and art. My parents, initially skeptical, were amazed by the transformation and I could see how much happier they were too.

This experience reinforced my belief in the power of design, not just to make a space look beautiful, but also functional and a home. Through the various projects I’ve since taken on, it's clear how thoughtful design can elevate people's lives.
